Expertise Below and Beyond

At Dirt Poor Excavation & More, we provide full-service excavation and land management throughout Tazewell, TN, and surrounding areas. Whether you’re clearing a new property, prepping a foundation, or just need reliable snow removal, we’ve got the equipment and experience to handle it.

Land Clearing

We remove trees, brush, and debris to give you a clean slate for building or landscaping. From small residential lots to larger tracts of land, we clear efficiently and safely.

Forestry Mulching

A fast, eco-friendly way to clear overgrowth without leaving large piles of debris. Forestry mulching grinds vegetation directly into the soil, reducing erosion and promoting regrowth.

Stump Grinding & Removal

Leftover stumps are a hazard and an eyesore. We grind them down below ground level so you can mow, build, or landscape without obstacles.

Bush Hogging & Mowing

For fields, pastures, or overgrown lots, our heavy-duty bush hogging equipment can handle thick grass and brush quickly.

Excavation & Grading

From digging to leveling, we handle all types of excavation projects with precision.

Septic System Excavation

We provide trenching and site prep for new or replacement septic systems. Our team ensures proper slope, depth, and placement to meet code and function reliably.

Auger Services

Need precise holes for posts, fencing, or piers? Our auger service gets it done quickly and cleanly.

Mulching & Erosion Control

We spread mulch to help stabilize soil, reduce erosion, and improve property appearance.

Snow Removal

When winter hits, we keep your driveways, parking areas, and private roads clear and safe.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Justin is honest and fair, and sticks to his quotes. We had an extremely challenging landscape and he and his crew did a great job. I would highly recommend Dirt Poor Excavation.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The crew was back for part two of their job. I can’t say enough good about their attention to detail and their willingness to do quality work. We live in NY and they worked with the state to make sure it was done right since we weren't here to do it ourselves. Their communication is spot on and they are affordable. Will definitely have them back as we develop our forever home for other jobs.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our manufactured home was installed on our property and the area that was prepared for it wasn’t done correctly. The ground behind our house came all the way up to the back door. It was a literal four foot tall bank behind our house. Justin and his team came out and saved the day! They were able to grade down the area completely flat around the house so our porches could be built and also created a gentle slope further toward our fence line. And when I say flat, I mean flat. No rocks, stumps, or roots in the way at all! It looks really great!

He was also able to help us clear a larger area and even pushed down some trees for us that were previously not taken care of by others. Justin and his team even took some time to help us move a large load of lumber dropped off in an unfortunate spot by delivery AND took some time to help us square up an area for building simply because he saw our frustration and exhaustion and wanted to help.

Justin was honest with us, personable, and VERY knowledgeable. I will recommend him to everyone. We are calling him out to do other jobs for us to help us improve our property. I HIGHLY recommend Justin and his team to anyone who wants the job done correctly. We are so glad we found him!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We hired Justin and his crew to install 1800’ of water line from the municipal water main up to our home. From the beginning he was responsive and had great communication. He discussed potential issues that may require more work (Rock to big to dig through) then discussed the additional cost and explained why. He worked hard and after a couple days I have great water compared to my sulfur well. He will be back soon to install a septic system for our new home. We cannot recommend him and his crew highly enough.
